Our Process

Our Process

Step 1: Getting to know you.

 

  • Your space, projects and story are unique to you.  Our Complimentary Consultation and Assessment will pin-point your concerns, identify your organizing goals and what area(s) of the home you would like to have organized.  We will also answer any questions not answered by our  Q & A.

  • During our in-home/on-site assessment to view your spaces in-person and determine the overall scope of your organizing project, we will take photos and measurements and notes regarding specific areas of concern.  It’s important that we see your space as you use it day-to-day in order to make the most accurate assessment of what systems need to be developed for your space(s).

 

Step 2: Making a plan.

​

  • Based on your assessment and needs we will send an engagement for services for either Professional Organization Services or a Custom Client Organization Plan that you can complete on your own or we can complete via Virtual Services. 

  • When choosing Professional Organization Services, we can go ahead and book your first organizing session once you have reviewed the Professional Organization Services Engagement Letter.

  • If you prefer a contact-less service and choose DIY/Virtual services via the Custom Client Organization Plan, at this time you would share by email as many photos of your space as possible and then we will schedule a video conference call to complete this step virtually.

Step 3: Getting the project started.

 

  • Our initial session together we will guide you through a de-cluttering process by gently asking questions regarding what items bring you the most meaning and joy, what you use most frequently and what doesn’t get used any longer.  We will encourage you to make all your own decisions, setting aside to donate or sell items that have already fulfilled their purpose in your life.

​

  • Each client is different and will be able to sort through items at their own pace.  We work with you and go at your pace.  We take breaks and if a certain object evokes strong memories, we can set aside temporarily and come back to it after.  For the most part we will tackle sentimental items at the end of an organizing session because they are the most difficult to part with.  After spending several hours sorting through other belongings with less sentimental value, it will be easier to understand your own emotions tied up with an object and how to separate memories and emotions from the physical object itself.

​

  • Getting the project started is the messiest part of the process and may be draining mentally and physically, but also very uplifting and rewarding.  I like to call it the Organizer’s high because it's completely natural and feels like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders when you can let go of the items that have been cluttering up your life.  Your donated items will also have new purpose for someone else who might need or want them.  At the end of the day, we bring your unwanted items to a donation drop-off as part of our packaged services.

 

Step 4: Getting the project buttoned up.

 

  • Our final step includes repurposing organization items and furniture from other parts of your home or shopping for organizational items that fit your personal style and needs - we will design and execute customized solutions that are unique to you and your space.  We will categorize your belongings and identify the most practical and functional spaces to house those belongings based on where and how they are used. We can help you arrange and display your favourite (and useful) belongings in practical and beautiful ways. 

​

  • Your space is now complete and ready for you to enjoy to the fullest.  You will have a functionally organized space designed around how you use it, where everything is in its place, always has an aesthetic appearance and requires minimal cleaning. We will leave you with tips, tools and strategies throughout the process to easily maintain this organized state - and we’re always here to help if you have life changes.
